All On The Table
Lelia’s crew, consisting of her partner, daughter and son-in-law, are the magic behind each moment at Two Lovebirds Mirco Weddings. Originally, Lelia began her wedding industry journey as a celebrant, but while working with couples, she noticed a similar concern. She found many couples organising ceremonies in outdoor parks due to the cost of traditional venues. But, with this outdoor location, there then followed the concern of Melbourne’s unpredictable weather: four seasons in one day. Leila saw firsthand this emotional strain and did more than just offer words of support. She created Two Lovebirds Mirco Weddings: a solution. By transforming a shopfront in Ascot Vale into an intimate venue, she filled this gap and offered an option for couples to have their entire wedding day, from simple legals to celebrations, in one place with the one vendor doing it all. But, most importantly, she offered an affordable price tag, rooted in evidence from her work as a celebrant.
From this, Leila’s had the privilege of seeing countless couples say, ‘I do’ and despite the words never changing, each carries a unique love story behind them. The Why Behind It All
Leila created her dream business not only from the realisation that couples needed more for less but rather from life lessons many are fortunate enough not to have learnt. While a proud business owner, Leila is first and foremost a woman who has rebuilt her life more than once. These are hardships she’s not afraid to tell, as each have made her the woman she is now. From experiencing difficulties in past relationships to having raised her six children as mostly a single mother, life has not been easy. She lost her first-born son, Dean, to suicide, and this loss is something she carries with her in everything she does. It’s shaped the way she appreciates life for the meaningful moments brought through love. Love which morphed into motivation with her children central to her life choices.
While working as a tram driver, Leila saved every penny and spent every spare moment studying to become a celebrant, slowly turning this vision of spreading love into reality. A reality that has now evolved into Two Lovebirds Micro Weddings; a dream business built on sheer determination. Customers rarely discover the why behind an owners choice to start a business, but through Leila’s journey, her why is to create a legacy for her children as proof that it’s never too late to start again. It’s fair to say Leila’s outlook on love has been tested, but through Two Lovebirds Mirco Weddings, she shares all the good love can bring.
